Awards and Named Lecturers at the American Heart Association 70th Scientific Sessions

The 70th Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association were held in Orlando, Fla, November 8 through 12, 1997. A traditional highlight of the annual AHA Scientific Sessions is the recognition of excellence in clinical and basic cardiovascular research via the Scientific Councils' distinguished lectureships, awards, and Young Investigator competitions. The awardees and nominees for these distinguished lectureships, awards, and Young Investigator competitions are as follows.

Research Awards

Council on Cardiovascular Nursing New Investigator Award: Sabina DeGeest (second place), Leuven University, Belgium; Barbara Drew (first place), University of California, San Francisco; and Shirley Moore (third place), Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio (Fig 1Down).
