In the article by Inoue and Becker that appeared in a previous issue of the journal (Circulation 1998;97:188–193), the following text taken from reference 4 of this article should have appeared as a footnote at the bottom of column 1, page 191: "Von diesen Knoten verläuft einerseits nach hinten ein mehr oder weniger parallel angeordnetes kurzes Faserbündel ungefähr bis zur vorderen Umgebung des Sinus coronarius und verbindet sich hier mit den gewöhnlichen Vorhofsmuskelfasern."
