In the article by MacMahon et al that appeared in a previous issue of the journal (Circulation. 1998;97:1784–1790), sentence 2 under the subheading of "Participants" under the heading "Methods" on page 1785 should have appeared as follows: "Briefly, individuals were eligible for inclusion if they had a history of myocardial infarction or hospitalization for unstable angina 3 months to 3 years before enrollment and if they had a total serum cholesterol level between 4 and 7 mmol/L (155 to 271 mg/dL) after 2 months on a low fat diet (target <30% kJ from fat)."
