Cardiovascular Drugs
Review of Mechanisms and Clinical Applications
Dan Roden, MD, Section Editor, Cardiovascular Drugs;
; James T. Willerson, MD, Circulation Editor
In this issue and
continuing on a monthly basis, Circulation will review basic
mechanisms and clinical applications of the most important and relevant
cardiovascular medications used to treat cardiovascular diseases in
humans. Experienced physicians, knowledgeable about specific classes of
medications, will contribute comprehensive reviews providing the
interested reader with detailed information concerning cardiovascular
medications used in the treatment of patients with selected
cardiovascular problems. These reviews will identify indications,
patient benefits, side effects, and possible interactions with other
medications. Dr Dan Roden will serve as the Section Editor of this new
series. The majority of the reviews will be invited ones, but we are
also willing to consider reviews submitted by the readership of
Circulation. We believe that this new series will be useful
to physicians who care for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
