The abstract "Catheter Facilitated Completion of Fontan Procedure," which appeared in the October 28, 2003, abstract supplement to Circulation, featured the use of a device not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and not approved by an Institutional Review Board (Murphy JD, Murdison KA, Nehgme RA, Pizarro C, Norwood Jr WI. Catheter facilitated completion of Fontan procedure. Circulation. 2003;108[suppl IV]:IV-704). This information was made available only after publication and presentation at the 76th Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association, November 9–12, 2003, in Orlando, Fla. In accordance with the recommendation of the Chief Executive of the Practice of the authors’ institution, it has been decided to retract this abstract from the Journal.
